The Friendship Center is currently accepting proposals to design and estimate costs associated with renovating the original Friendship Center on Gallatin Avenue.
Located across the street from our current facility, the building at 1503 Gallatin Avenue has been used as a single-family residential dwelling since we moved out in 2007. The Friendship Center had the opportunity to reacquire the building in December 2023, effectively completing the first phase of a three-year project to create an expanded, contiguous campus between our current facility and our former home.
The impact of an expanded campus will be significant, increasing not just the number of clients we can serve, but the spectrum of services we can offer. It will also be an impact multiplier when it comes to our space and staff capacity to provide education and training to help our community recognize and address the roots of violence.
We are well-positioned to grow and keep pace with our community's needs because of the support The Friendship Center has received throughout our history as an agency. This design and cost estimating work will prepare us for yet another milestone in our story, as it will inform our funding requests for the construction phase of this project. A separate RFP will be distributed for a general contractor to complete the construction and renovations once funding is in place.
We invite all who are interested in performing this design and cost estimating work to review the RFP for the full scope of work, how to get in touch with questions, and instructions for submitting a proposal by April 30, 2025.
