The Friendship Center is currently accepting applications for the position of Receptionist/Crisis Line Support.

POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
TITLE: Receptionist/Crisis Line Support Assistant
POSITION SUMMARY: Provides primary telephone answering services, greets clients and visitors, and provides general administrative support
SPECIFIC DUTIES/MAJOR TASKS:
- Responsible for answering the telephone during business hours; brief assessment of caller’s needs; appropriate and technical transfer of calls; recording accurate messages
- Manages access to secure office facility during business hours
- Completes necessary Crisis Line Call forms for processing by Crisis Case Manager
- Greets clients and the public when they enter the building
- Provides essential administrative support
- Provides support to the in-kind donations program
- Maintains donor log following a specific established procedure
- Attends specialized training as needed
- Attends weekly staff meeting
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum education — high school diploma/equivalent, Associate degree desirable
- Experience as a receptionist (greeting the public, answering phones, taking messages) in crisis-oriented setting
- Positive attitude and professional demeanor and image
- Commitment to maintain client confidentiality and privacy
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to listen well
- Administrative support experience desirable
- Competency and experience with all Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Experience with QuickBooks and database systems is desirable
- Ability to function as an effective member of a professional team
- Comfortable with, and eager to work with, diverse populations
- Criminal background check required for new hires
WORK SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday, 8:00 to 5:00 p.m.
COMPENSATION: This position pays $10-$12 per hour, depending on education and experience. Generous benefit package. Candidate must successfully complete six-month probationary period in order to make this a permanent position.
